VICTORIA RETZLAFF, RPRI am currently an official stenographic court reporter in Douglas County District Court, where I have been for 7 years. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Court Reporting from AIB College of Business in Des Moines, Iowa in 2013. I am originally from Ankeny, Iowa. I moved to Omaha in 2014 when I started my court reporting career freelancing for Thomas & Thomas Court Reporters. A short time later, I met my husband, and we were married in 2019. We have a 2-year-old daughter, Carter, who keeps us very busy along with two dogs. In my free time, I enjoy going to men’s Creighton basketball games, cooking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. I love being a stenographer, and I am a passionate advocate for my profession. I enjoy the element of surprise in this job, hearing something new in the courtroom every day. I appreciate the diverse cases I get to hear in district court: protection orders cases, divorces, medical malpractice, contract disputes on one end of the spectrum, to a variety of criminal cases and jury trials. I enjoy continuing to improve my writing skills in concert with learning the new and ever-changing technology at our fingertips that can improve and expedite our final product. |
