SIDNEY FREY, CSR (Iowa) I have always been a fast typist, and I even enjoyed typing games on the computer growing up. When my cousin told me about court reporting, it seemed like a perfect fit. Upon high school graduation, I attended Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) where I earned an associate’s degree in court reporting. After graduation, I returned to my hometown of Fairfield, Iowa, and began work as an official reporter in the 8th Judicial District. After my time in Fairfield, I decided to move to Seward, Nebraska, and began my position with Judge Stecker in Seward and York County. In my free time, I enjoy participating in Jeep cruises and parades with my local Jeep group, attending and managing my book club, and spending time with my dog, Ollie. I am also a dog sitter and foster parent for my local animal shelter. I love being a stenographer. I am so proud to be in a profession where everyone takes pride in their work. I have met so many wonderful people throughout this journey, and I look forward to connecting more in my role as the 2024-2025 Vice President for NeCRA! |
